Club Safety and Rules
Safety - Airplanes
Notched, modified or metal propellers are not allowed. (Recommend all props be balanced.)Double check frequency board use prior to turning on your radio if not on 2.4Ghz.
Secure your model properly when starting.
No bench running engines in the shelter
No excessive engine running in the pit area
Do not stand in the propeller arc while engine/motor us running. (ie: Looking at the side of the prop.)
No "Cross field" takeoffs (unless the winds require it). TKO/LND like others flying.
Do not take off from, fly over or land towards the pit area.
Do not fly over the local houses. (Farmhouse at entrance, North East, South and South West.)
Safety - Helicopters
All applicable rules above plus....Do not start your model in the shelter. Walk it out to the flight line.
Walk your model out 10 feet from flight line before spooling up.
Lift off, landing and spot autorotations should be no less than 15 feet from flight line.
Keep model at least 20 feet out at all times during flight, except during lift off or landing.
While flying with fellow airplane pilots - Follow the "Race track" pattern.
Repaired main or tail blades are absolutely not allowed.
Rules
If you need help. ASK!If you see someone who needs help. OFFER IT!
You must have your current club I.D. card and A.M.A. card with you at the field while flying.
Use of the frequency board is a requirement to fly. This applies to all members and guests regardless of transmitter frequency.
If you fly on 2.4Ghz, please place your card in an unused "Ham band" or "27Mhz" area.
Keep your radio off and antenna collapsed until you have the pin for your frequency and are ready to fly.
Fly a "Race track" pattern (Left or Right hand depending on wind conditions) Whenever more than one person is flying.
SLOW <5 mph on driveway by house at the entrance. Drive SLOW..! (No dust storms created on all field roadways.)
Do not drive onto the field, (Not past the west edge of the shelter), when backing up to the pits.
Do not litter. Pick up and dispose of your trash and debris. Take everything you came with when you leave.
Lost models in corn/beans: Do not damage the crops. You will be responsible for any damage caused.
Secure the outhouse door after use. (It has been, and is easily damaged by the wind.)
No smoking in the club meeting room at any time.
Students or members that do not yet have full flying privileges must have a club instructor with them if they plan to fly at the field.
Guests are allowed to fly only during their first 2 visits to the field. No other flying of any type is allowed until you join the club.
